A number of Konami's older iOS games may soon be pulled from the App Store due to compatibility issues - including Metal Gear Solid Touch.

Over at Inside-Games, Konami says it will remove a bunch of Japanese games on September 10th. We expect the same to happen in the west, though there is no mention of this on any of the games's iTunes descriptions.

You can get the full list here, but noteworthy apps include Metal Gear Solid Touch, Silent Hill The Escape, Crayon Physics Deluxe, Bomberman Touch, and a personal favourite - the bonkers auto-runner Tomena Sanner.

Previously, Konami said "mobile is where the future of gaming lies", but then quickly apologised and promised more console games.

The Elder Scrolls: Legends is rolling out its next expansion this month. Players will be whisked away to some familiar locales from The Elder Scrolls III in Houses of Morrowind, which is bringing a huge amount of new content to the popular card game.

Houses of Morrowind introduces over 140 new cards from Morrowind and Elder Scrolls: Online. Each of Morrowind’s Great Houses will get their own cards and special attributes. Perhaps most notably, though, are new three-attribute cards. If you add one of these cards to your deck, you’ll be able to unlock all of the other cards’ three attributes. Plus, you’ll now be able to build 100 card decks. That should add some interesting flair to battles. You can check out some of the new cards over on Bethesda’s blog. The Elder Scrolls: Legends - Houses of Morrowind is out on March 28 on iOS and Android. If you’re looking to get into The Elder Scrolls: Legends ahead of the next expansion, read up on our thoughts about the game.
Valorant, Riot's upcoming multiplayer shooter, has largely dominated Twitch since launching into closed beta earlier this month. It looks like a mix between Counter-Strike and Overwatch, offering the intense gunplay of the former and the hero-based abilities of the latter.

While Riot has recently jumped headfirst into the world of mobile gaming with League of Legends: Wild Rift and Teamfight Tactics, a mobile version of Valorant was far from guaranteed.

Now, however, Reddit user Spacixr has seemingly uncovered a playable touchscreen tablet mode for the PC version that suggests a mobile port may well be in the works.

The discovery was made when the user attempted to play Valorant on their laptop in tablet mode. Once loaded up, the game displayed tablet controls. They then hopped into a practice match to see whether the tablet controls worked, and they did.

Reddit user twoelephantszies commented on Spacixr's post to point out that Twitter user FireMonkey_ had previously uncovered icons for a potential mobile version within the game files. These icons are clearly similar to what we see in the screenshot above.
Icons relating to the game having Mobile support are in the game files, this doesn't confirm Valorant will be playable on Mobile but does confirm they have icons for it if they ever want to go that route. pic.twitter.com/2JZEYEgI1N— ???? Santa Ricky ???? (@FireMonkey__) April 4, 2020All that being said, even if a mobile version is in the works, it's highly unlikely that we'll be seeing it any time soon. And remember that nothing has been fully confirmed as of yet. It could be the case that Riot is simply playing with the idea of a mobile version rather than actively working on it.

If you fancy getting involved with the PC beta, you'll find more info over on the game's official site.
Hunting for the best multiplayer games to try with friends?
Fairy tale puzzler A Day in the Woods came out for iOS on April 2nd but wasn't announced for Android until earlier this month. There's a reason for that. A couple of them, in fact.

Megan Hughes of South Africa-based studio RetroEpic Software told us that A Day in the Woods had to be iOS-exclusive at first. At least, it had to be as far as the studio could see at the time.

"Currently, there is no way for a South African company to set up a merchant account and sell a game for a premium on the Google PlayStore," Hughes explained.

Apparently, this will should be changing in the future, but for RetroEpic, this meant that that an Android version of the game was trickier than it should be.

"Our options were left, then, to releasing for free or possibly make use other monetization options which didn't appeal to us," Hughes added.

"It would also have been unfair to release a premium version on iOS and a free version on Android, so ultimately we avoided Android conversations altogether."

However, after launching the iOS version of A Day in the Woods, Amazon got in touch with RetroEpic to see if the game could be brought to its own Android app store.

This option hadn't occurred to RetroEpic before this and so with it becoming open the studio started to work on an Android version.

"In the meantime, we saw friends of ours at QCF Design release their game, Desktop Dungeons, via Finji on the Google Playstore," Hughes said.

"We took a shot at contacting Finji to see if they might be able to help us do the same, not expecting that they would, but they were more than happy to help us out!"

Finji is a developer and publisher founded by Adam and Rebekah Saltsman (creator of Canabalt) and is based in Texas, North America.

Due to this, none of the restrictions placed on South African studios affects Finji so it can publish games for them on the various app stores.

By working with Finji, RetroEpic is now able to finally bring A Day in the Woods to Android via both the Amazon App Store and Google Play. As with all fairy tales, then, it's a happy ending.

With all this sorted out, RetroEpic is hoping to bring its next game - a memory-matching puzzler called Ginjah - to iOS but also Android, providing that A Day in the Woods does well on the platform.

A Day in the Woods should be available for £3.99 / $4.99 on Android on July 30th.

You can already purchase it for iOS on the App Store at the same price.

Trust Platinum to almost totally steal the show at the Nintendo Direct - even with heavyweights like Super Mario Maker 2 and a Link's Awakening remake, its action-brawler-thingy Astral Chain certainly did not go ignored.

Looking anime as hell and like pure Platinum fun, Astral Chain has you playing as police officers in the future who battle bad guys through the use of "living special weapons" called The Legion, which are literally chained to your body.

The action looks super slick, the world looks absolutely gorgeous, and we can't wait to see more. Plus, it's due out this year - August 30th to be exact. And it's a Switch exclusive!

We'll keep you posted with more info as it comes. For now, just look at the teaser video below and weep with joy.

Team up with a special weapon to stand up against alien threats in #ASTRALCHAIN, a new action game from @PlatinumGames coming exclusively to #NintendoSwitch on 30/08! #NintendoDirect pic.twitter.com/RY8L3UnKRd— Nintendo of Europe (@NintendoEurope) February 13, 2019"Oh, you must go to your sister at once, Susan.
